Archy has announced the launch of Archy Scribe, an AI-powered clinical documentation tool built directly into its dental practice management system. Archy Scribe operates within the platform rather than connecting through external integrations. The system has access to patient charts, treatment history, and planned procedures before recording begins, allowing it to generate clinical notes based on existing data without requiring clinicians to restate information.
The tool is designed to address documentation workflows in dental practices. Dentists often complete notes after hours, while hygienists conducting periodontal charting may alternate between the patient and a computer or rely on assistance for data entry.
Archy Scribe enables clinicians to record visits and generate clinical notes formatted as SOAP notes or mapped to custom templates used by the practice. During periodontal exams, clinicians can speak findings aloud, and the system charts them directly into the patient record.
“Dentists did not go to dental school to write notes at 9 p.m. We built Archy Scribe so clinicians can complete documentation before they leave the office and trust that the record reflects what actually happened, not what they are trying to remember hours later,” Jon Rat, CEO of Archy, said.
At launch, features include AI-generated SOAP notes from recorded appointments, auto-population of custom clinical note templates, and voice-enabled periodontal charting.
Archy indicated that Archy Scribe is part of a broader set of AI tools planned for release this year, including products for insurance claims processing, benefits verification, and patient communications.
The system has been in beta testing with dental practices since late 2025. One clinician participating in the beta reported a reduction in time spent on documentation.
“Writing clinical notes used to be the part of my day I'd put off. Archy Scribe has cut that time in half, sometimes more, and the quality of my notes has improved,” Lauren Koch, Avondale Dental Studio, said.
Archy provides a platform that includes scheduling, charting, imaging, billing, patient communications, and AI-powered documentation tools for dental practices across the United States. More information is available at archy.com.
