The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has announced the recipients of its 2025 ADHA Awards, which recognize members, students, and contributors for achievements in clinical practice, education, public health, and research.
The Award for Excellence in Dental Hygiene, sponsored by Listerine®, was presented to Sherri M. Lukes, RDH, MS, FAADH, and Anne Guignon, RDH, MPH, CSP, FADHA. This award recognizes individuals actively involved in ADHA and its constituents who have made a meaningful impact on the advancement of dental hygiene.
The Irene Newman Outstanding Clinician Award was presented to Joan Kenney Fitzgerald, ASDH, BS, CPHDH, CDP, FADHA. The award acknowledges professionals who demonstrate excellence in clinical practice and patient education and who have made a difference in the lives of patients or clients.
The Ann Battrell Visionary Legacy Award, sponsored by Crest + Oral-B, was awarded to Marion C. Manski, MS, RDH. This award honors lifetime achievements of professionals who have devoted the majority of their careers to the practice of dental hygiene, demonstrating leadership and innovation in their work.
The Hygienist Proud – Student Award, sponsored by Crest + Oral-B, was awarded to Hailey Manning. This recognition highlights students who are committed to ADHA, active in their dental hygiene programs, and demonstrate leadership potential.
The ADHA Standout Seven Award, sponsored by ACCLEAN® by Henry Schein, was awarded to Lesley A. Harbison, RDH, EPDH, MS; Tiffani Dickey, RDH, MBA, CLC, FADHA; Dani Ford, RDH, MHA; Shelley Brown, MEd, BSDH, AS, RDH, FADHA; Wanda Cloet, DHSC, RDH; Melia Lewis, MEd, RDH, FADHA; and Andrea Edelen, RDH. According to the association, this award celebrates individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication and innovation in their dental hygiene roles.
The ADHA announced that nominations and applications for the 2026 ADHA Awards Program will open in February 2026. Each year, the association evaluates the awards offered based on eligibility, sponsorship, and the number of applications received. Awards may vary from year to year depending on these factors.
