DEXIS has announced the release of the Imprevo intraoral scanner, the newest addition to its portfolio of digital dental products. The scanner is powered by the company’s updated IS ScanFlow 2.0 software and is designed to integrate with the company’s AI-supported imaging ecosystem.
According to the DEXIS, the Imprevo scanner includes a 20 percent slimmer design compared to the IS 3800 series, a scanning speed of up to 40 frames per second, and an extended depth of field of 25 mm. The device also uses GPU-based parallel processing to increase data density and reduce processing time.
“The DEXIS Imprevo scanner immediately conveys a sense of solidity and confidence, while maintaining excellent handling,” said Dr. Carlo Massimo Saratti. “The evolution of the accompanying software DEXIS IS ScanFlow v2.0 makes the entire scanning experience smoother and more pleasant, both for the clinician and the patient. The increased depth of field is remarkable, allowing for scanning in significantly tighter spaces.”
DEXIS stated that the Imprevo scanner supports integration with multiple third-party partners and connects with DTX Studio Clinic, the company’s centralized imaging platform for intraoral, 2D, and 3D data. The integration allows users to automate case setup, merge 3D and intraoral scans, and complete treatment planning chairside.
“The digital impressions taken with the new DEXIS Imprevo scanner are very sharp and well-defined,” said dental technician Leonardo Franchini. “Details in tight spaces, such as interproximal regions, are typically much clearer and more visible than in previous versions — evidence of a high-performance, cutting-edge device. The entire digital workflow benefits from this, enabling smooth and reliable operations.”
Robert Befidi, president of DEXIS, said, “DEXIS Imprevo represents a leap forward in digital dentistry. We are proud to announce this new product release, designed to deliver increased scanning confidence, efficiency, and patient comfort. By listening to our customers and leveraging our expertise, we've developed a scanning solution that significantly strengthens the DEXIS portfolio.”
DEXIS, part of the Envista group of dental brands, develops imaging technologies and software used across intraoral, 2D, and 3D diagnostics. The company’s systems are designed to connect workflows across diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivery.
