Medit has announced the release of Medit Link Express, its first intraoral scanning application developed specifically for the iPad. The company has also begun shipping the Medit i900 Mobility scanner, which had been available for pre-order since August 1.
According to the company, the Medit Link Express app is designed to streamline intraoral scanning by allowing dental professionals to scan and share directly from an iPad, without the need for a desktop. The app is now available on the Apple App Store.
The Medit i900 Mobility scanner, which works in conjunction with the app, is now shipping in select regions. Medit states that the combination of the i900 Mobility and Medit Link Express offers a compact and intuitive workflow designed for clinical settings.
According to the company, features of the Medit Link Express app include:
A native iPad interface for mobile scanning.
Express Scan Mode, allowing instant scans without patient registration.
Treatment Scan Mode for prosthetic and clinical applications.
Real-time patient communication via live scan display.
Automatic updates and cloud synchronization.
Integration between iPad and desktop workflows.
In-app case creation and partner collaboration tools.
Medit also noted that recent software updates to the broader Medit Link platform support full integration with the i900 Mobility scanner and improve scanning clarity for reflective surfaces such as metal.
Product availability and regulatory status may vary by country. Dental professionals are advised to consult their local Medit representatives for details.
