The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has announced a partnership with Andau Medical to support ergonomic awareness and reduce work-related injuries among dental hygienists. The collaboration will focus on addressing musculoskeletal strain commonly reported in the profession and increasing access to tools designed to improve posture and reduce fatigue.
As part of the partnership, Andau Medical will serve as a two-year sponsor of the ADHA Champion Program, which engages students and early-career professionals. According to the ADHA, Champions will share ergonomic-focused content through their social media platforms and participate in programming that includes product demonstrations and member communications.
Dental hygienists will have the opportunity to evaluate the company’s ergonomic loupes at the 2025 ADHA Annual Conference, scheduled for October 4 to 6 in Long Beach, California. According to the company, the loupes are designed to help maintain a neutral working posture and reduce strain on the eyes, neck, back, and shoulders.
“We’re excited to welcome Andau Medical as a new partner in our mission to support dental hygienists’ professional well-being and career longevity,” said Lancette VanGuilder, ADHA president. “Work-related musculoskeletal injuries are a significant concern in our profession, and access to quality ergonomic solutions can make a real difference in helping dental hygienists maintain healthy careers. This partnership aligns perfectly with ADHA’s commitment to advancing our members’ health and professional success.”
According to ADHA, post-event survey feedback from past conferences has shown consistent interest in ergonomics as a continuing education topic. The organization reports that musculoskeletal injuries remain a common issue among clinicians due to extended periods of working in awkward positions.
“We’re honored to partner with the ADHA to help dental hygienists extend their careers and reduce daily pain and discomfort,” said Sandi Wright, CEO of Andau Medical. “What sets Andau apart is our ability to pair the most advanced innovative ergonomic products, such as loupes, with expert implementation into clinical practice. Our clinician-led team regularly hears how our Ergo Loupes relieve pain, improve posture, and — as one hygienist said — ‘have changed my life.’”
The partnership is expected to expand access to ergonomic education and tools designed to support both the physical health of hygienists and the quality of patient care. According to both organizations, the collaboration reflects a shared interest in promoting clinical safety, reducing occupational injury, and supporting professional longevity.
