Dentsply Sirona will present its latest advancements in digital dentistry at the International Dental Show (IDS) 2025 in Cologne, Germany, from March 25 to 29, 2025. According to the company, the showcase will focus on connected dentistry, a concept that integrates cloud-based solutions and AI-powered tools to improve workflows and patient care.
At IDS 2025, Dentsply Sirona will introduce new technologies that aim to redefine efficiency and precision in dental practices. The DS Core platform, which integrates imaging, diagnostics, treatment planning, and collaboration, will serve as the foundation for these innovations. According to the company, DS Core connects practices, partners, and technology to enable seamless, cloud-powered workflows that streamline everyday tasks and expand treatment possibilities.
One of the highlights of the event will be the introduction of the company’s latest 3D imaging solutions, such as Orthophos SL and Axeos. These products, now enhanced by DS Core and Primary Storage, are designed to help dental professionals improve their diagnostic capabilities and patient experience. According to Dentsply Sirona, these imaging solutions are flexible and designed for optimal workflow integration, ensuring long-term practice growth.
Additionally, Dentsply Sirona will introduce DS Core Diagnose features, including a cloud-based diagnostic viewer. According to the company, this new tool will provide dental professionals with greater flexibility to diagnose Dentsply Sirona X-ray data from any device, potentially reducing IT costs. IDS attendees will also see Smart View, an AI-powered tool designed to enhance 3D rendering for better patient communication and case acceptance.
The company will also demonstrate its commitment to connected imaging and scanning with innovations like Primescan® 2, powered by DS Core. Primescan 2 is a cloud-native intraoral scanning solution that offers flexibility and precision by enabling direct-to-cloud scanning. According to Dentsply Sirona, this allows dental professionals to scan anytime, anywhere.
Another significant development being showcased is the first dental-dedicated MRI (ddMRI), a collaboration between Dentsply Sirona and Siemens Healthineers. The new imaging technology, still in development, aims to provide soft tissue contrast through radiation-free imaging, expanding diagnostic capabilities in dentomaxillofacial care. DS Core will enable the sharing of MRI data to enhance peer-to-peer collaboration, according to Dentsply Sirona.
“At IDS 2025, Dentsply Sirona will showcase a fully integrated approach to digital dentistry,” said Dr. Verena Freier, a dental practitioner in Bad Soden, Germany, and Dentsply Sirona educator. “Cloud-based solutions and AI are redefining workflows, and Dentsply Sirona is leading this transformation.”
The company will also offer live demonstrations, hands-on courses, and expert-led discussions on digitalization, AI, and cloud technology in dentistry. Workshops will cover topics such as restorative dentistry, endodontics, diagnosis, planning, and efficient treatment workflows, including the IDS debut of Axano Pure.
“Our mission is to transform dentistry to improve oral health globally. We are committed to achieving this by empowering dental professionals with the tools they need to advance confidently into the future,” said Xavier Carro, Group Vice President Regional Commercial Organization EMEA at Dentsply Sirona. “Cloud technology is the backbone of innovation—enabling AI-driven solutions, streamlining workflows, and enhancing both the clinical and administrative sides of dentistry. The future of dentistry is connected, and DS Core provides the infrastructure for continuous innovation. Dentsply Sirona is defining that future.”
