COLTENE SciCan has introduced OPTIM OS1 Wipes, a new hospital-grade cleaner-disinfectant designed to streamline infection control in dental practices. These wipes are formulated to remove soil and disinfect clinical contact surfaces, offering a one-step solution for cleaning and disinfection.
OPTIM OS1 is designed to kill a broad range of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and emerging pathogens, in just one minute. The product uses SciCan’s proprietary LAS Active System to enhance the cleaning power of its surfactant base, ensuring that even hard-to-kill organisms are effectively removed.
The wipes feature rapid contact times. According to the company, they kill TB bacteria in 45 seconds, yeast and fungi in 75 seconds, and SARS-CoV-2 (the virus responsible for COVID-19) in just 30 seconds. In addition, the wipes meet the EPA’s Emerging Viral Pathogen Claim, providing protection against potential future viral threats, the company said.
According to COLTENE SciCan, OPTIM OS1 Wipes are safe for use on a variety of hard, non-porous clinical surfaces, including stainless steel, anodized aluminum, Corian countertops, and silicone. The wipes are designed to be VOC-free, fragrance-free, and dye-free, making them suitable for users with sensitivities.
The wipes also feature excellent wettability, ensuring they cover a larger surface area and remain wet for the duration of the required contact time. The durable wipe design reduces costs by maintaining consistent moisture levels throughout the disinfection process.
